Jimmy Backofen


Jimmy Backofen, Chief Financial Officer, joined Vintage Realty Company in 1994 to head the accounting department. In 2022 he was also named Chief Investment Officer.

In addition to his responsibilities of overseeing the accounting department, Multifamily asset management, cash management and financial reporting, Jimmy is responsible for preparing detailed analyses that show the economics of various financing and investing alternatives. These analyses have helped to bring various projects to fruition, some of which include the development of numerous Multifamily Apartments, the acquisition of Pierremont Office Park III, and the renovation and sale of N. O. Thomas Plaza to the City of Shreveport and Caddo Parish.

Additionally, he participates in the investment and asset management activities of the American South Real Estate Fund and sits on the Investment Committee.

Jimmy received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Louisiana Tech University in 1989. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1991. Prior to joining Vintage Realty Company, Jimmy worked as the Internal Auditor overseeing 50+ retail stores throughout the U.S. for a Shreveport-based corporation.

In addition to his contributions to Vintage, Jimmy is involved with the communities’ youth by dedicating his time coaching various youth programs at the YMCA and the Caddo Bossier Soccer Association.
