David Alexander is co-owner of Vintage Realty Company and serves as Director of Development with nearly 40 years of experience in the commercial real estate business. Alexander is a 1980 graduate of Louisiana State University with a BS in Business Administration. He is married and has two children. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and past Director of the Downtown Shreveport Development Corporation. Additionally, Alexander is past Chairman of Shreveport’s Downtown Development Authority, past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Shreveport/Bossier YMCA, past President of the Board of The Shreveport Club and past President of the Board of Trustees of Southfield School. He was a founding member of the Board of Directors of Friends of the Red River Refuge, and past member of the Board of Guests of Louisiana State University, Shreveport.
Alexander has completed numerous brokerage assignments for various national and local clients and these sales include regional shopping malls, multi-family communities, CBD office towers / suburban office parks and tracts of land ranging from small restaurant pad sites to acreage for large retailers such as Wal-Mart.
Alexander is Director of Vintage’s multi-family development team and has been in charge of the numerous projects totaling 4,048 units throughout Louisiana and Arkansas with another 803 units either under construction or in the development phase. The current Vintage multi-family portfolio represents a total market value of approximately $550,000,000.
Alexander is co-developer of Provenance which is north Louisiana’s only Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND). Provenance is situated on 377 acres in south Shreveport and includes a wide choice of homes/home sites, retail locations and several commercial zones. Alexander also developed Windrush Village which is the first retail center in Provenance and helped found Vintage Construction Group and Provenance Realty Group. Alexander is also co-developer of RiverScape which is an 80-acre mixed-use development located in Shreveport on the Clyde Fant Parkway. Lastly, Alexander is Co-Manager of American South Real Estate Fund, www.ASREF.com. The American South Real Estate Fund (the “Fund” or “ASREF”) provides mezzanine debt, preferred equity, and equity financing for real estate projects located in emerging low- and moderate-income neighborhoods in ten southern states. ASREF is an impact fund having a Triple Bottom Line (“TBL”) investment strategy.
